MH871 with Vinylmaster Cut?

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I recently purchased both the vinyl plotter with Sure Cuts A Lot Pro, and a separate program - Vinylmaster Cut 4.0.

When attempting to cut with Vinylmaster, the machine just took off and cut a "stair-like" line across the vinyl and ruined a good chunk of it.

I believe there is a problem with the communications. I tried with both the USB cable and serial cable, same result.

The one thing I've noticed is that in the SCALP program, the baud rate is set up at 4800.

In Vinylmaster, the baud rate doesn't go that low. Could this be the issue?

Has anyone else experienced this?

There was a previous version of the MH series cutter. Which may be the set up in the Vinyl Master you have. ...This MK2 is a different version.  which uses the 4800 Baud rate.

So I believe you can change the Baud rate in your computer.  Or try a different driver.

My MK2 will only work on 9600 baud rate.

Make sure you clear the buffer after EVERY job sent.   I push the rest button.  Other people turn it off and on.

If I forget to hit the reset button it'll do the stairs like you're talking about.
