Blade holder is off a few degrees

Recommended Posts

I'm hoping someone has had this problem and has fixed it.

I've been trying to fine tune my MH 871-MK2 and I noticed that the blade it's exactly perpendicular.  It's turned maybe a degree or 2 counterclockwise.

Is there any adjustment for this?

I think it's affecting my cuts.  I examined my holder and it's lost it's paint on 1 edge of it by it rubbing against the vinyl.  You would think that it would wear evenly if it was perpendicular.

Anybody had this problem and fixed it?

here is another one that is like you described but no answer on if the new peice fixed the problem.  There have been several people with new mh's that were shipped with loose screws behind the carriage cover - could be worth looking at

I'll have to call US Cutter on Monday.

For now I've managed to place little squares of vinyl to shim it straight.  Now my circles are coming out perfect and I have ZERO tags holding in the corners.

did you check for the loose screws in the carriage assembly?

When I got a replacement carriage for my LP1 it did the same thing and the only solution I found was to shim it just like you did. To my knowledge it's still working fine like that.

Yea Everything was tight.

It has something to do with the way it clamps down on the holder.   that's when it turns alittle

It's still not cutting great but it's better.  Everything little tweak is helping.  I have to go through every setting again and do some testing.
