I have a customer who wants me to do a sign for them out by the road. this the logo that he gave me .post-50894-0-55843100-1383240684_thumb.j

This is what I came up with. post-50894-0-92416700-1383240727_thumb.j

Any suggestions on what I can do to make it better or do ya think this will be close enough?

I think its a poor design to start with. But the customer apparently likes it. Your conversion is a little rough around the edges and portions are off some. If you are trying to duplicate the original I would try to get it closer. Always try to get the fonts used it just makes for a more cleaner professional look. You shouldn't have much problem finding those fonts. Just my opinion.

The font for "Mi Ranchito" is "Calligraphic" with an outline applied.

The font for "Mexican Grill" is "Gigi"

If they're not opposed to change, I'd drop one of the suns and put a horizon across the entire thing.

SignBlazer has the installed font "Mermaid" (for the name of the restaurant)  --  I would seriously kern it a bit, so the letters don't crash into each other.

You might punch out the center of Mi Ranchito if you're going to do a single color - like this:

I've attached it as an .EPS if you want...

It is not that bad...just make you some registeration marks to align the layers. Actualy that one would be easy.

After all the work we did on this. The customer decided on this put to a 4'x6' white banner.

The question I need to know is what is the best vinyl to use.

I'm at $120 all day on that size and I'm usually the cheap guy around. You may want to try for at least $100. Easier to go down than up.
