cutter bogging down computer

hey guys, sorry this is my 1st post, but havin issues. thanx for yer time , hope you can help.     Cutter:  MH 871-MK2 ,purchased Sept 2013,   using SCALP, on Win XP, via USB.   no issues until recently.   when i turn on the cutter it really bogs down my pc.  mouse barely responds, but if i turn it off everything goes back to normal.  not a major prob, just incredibly frustrating.  any help appreciated. thanx

Not sure on this one because the cutters only take what is fed to them from the computer so they shouldn't bog it down at all - heck lots of people run their cutters with old single core xp machines with little ram . . . .

Not sure either,,,, I'm running a 30" Graphtec on an XP laptop,  actually, I have 3 different XP laptops and never a problem.

How many fonts do you have installed? They can drag it down fast and could be active when program is sending to cutter.

I had to uninstall close to 400 fonts last week cause computer would freeze when designing and cutting. Don't know where all those fonts keep coming from :ph34r:

thanx monkey and jaybird, makes total sense. added several fonts recently, just didnt make the connection between the two. is there any way to keep the fonts but get rid of the problem, or do i just ditch  the fonts?    thanx again

Google font manager. Several free programs that will uninstall and reinstall without actually dumping the font.
