madmike55 0 Posted May 15, 2013 My cutter is messing up on a cut that 17 inches long, it will cut half of it the cut a square around it then drag the blade across it then it will do the same on the second half. I use signcut and I also have a keyspan. Im new to cutting so it is probably something simple im doing Thanks for any help
Dakotagrafx 7,297 Posted May 15, 2013 1 of two things come to mind - lack of meemory in cutter depending on amount of nodes or static becuase the stand is not grounded to the cutter - static builds in the stand/vinyl and discharges thru the cutter head
madmike55 0 Posted May 15, 2013 I have the cutter grounded to the stand, I don't know about the memory just what ever it comes with. Is there a way to clear the memory or do I need to add more?
Dakotagrafx 7,297 Posted May 15, 2013 some turn the cutter off after each cut - more memory is abailable here http://www.uscutter.com/4MB-Memory-Chip-for-USCutter-MH-Series-Vinyl-Cutters-Non-MK2-ONLY I would also switch to a serial connection via a card in your desktop - keyspan adapter if laptop with a null modem serial cable
