USMC3225 17 Posted May 2, 2013 I have a guy that came to me asking me to make him a decal he can put on his leather gun case. Can this be done? I have never heard of applying vinyl decals to a leather surface. He says a buddy of his has had it done.... Is there a certain type of vinyl that would need to be used for this type of application. Any help with this one would be great.. Thanks in advance.

OWJones 1,981 Posted May 2, 2013 Siser Easy Weed Extra is specially made for heat pressing onto leather garments - should work just fine on a leather gun bag.

jaybyrd 3,770 Posted May 2, 2013 I applied regular siser to leather as a sample for someone and it bonded fine but the press flattened out the grain of the leather.
Jay2703 704 Posted May 2, 2013 Good to know. Thanks!!
jaybyrd 3,770 Posted May 2, 2013 Leather "grain" is embossed under pressure and the combined heat and pressure from my press was enough to reverse that effect.
