What is the basket option on the Pcut used for?

I am thinking of buying the PCUT, I will purchase with a stand, but was wondering what the basket option is for and do I need it?

keeps the vinyl off the floor on long runs - I have one and don't use it cause I usally run into the dang thing

The basket keeps your vinyl off the floor...  I love mine., mine moves in out of the way, front and back.

I posted a thread recently about getting and installing a $40 media basket that USCUTTER is selling for the LPII machine, and I drilled holes and got it to fit my SC.
