I want to buy a machine that will cut mylar .010 14" x 10"

Recommended Posts

If you're saying 0.010 inch thick material, that is what vinyl cutters call 10 mils thickness.  Pretty much every cutter that US Cutter sells will cut 10 mil thicknesses.  I'm not sure what kind of down force you'll need to cut through mylar, so hopefully someone else here has some experience.

What kind of detail level are you looking for?  Will it be simple shapes and letters, or more intricate designs?

Plus, how often will you be using it - do you plan to buy it, cut a bunch of stencils and be done, or are you going to be cutting new designs every day?

What is your price range?

These are the kinds of answers we'll need to provide you with a specific recommendation.

You will also more than likely need to use an adhesive carrier backing sheet to cut on. I don't believe Mylar comes on any backing and doesn't have the  dimensional stability to be cut without one.

Here's a few that uscutter carries. If these don't work you can find others elsewhere that should work.

Has anyone successfully cut 7mil mylar with their laserpoint / uscutter machines? Ours will only scratch it at 800 pressure and the blade completely exposed. Would really appreciate some help with this ASAP!
