jperez21 0 Posted March 15, 2013 I purchased a small piece of Creative Films PRIME SERIES Film-009 Fantasy Crystal Silver holographic vinyl to try it out http://www.uscutter.com/Creative-Films-PRIME-SERIES-24-by-10yd-Metallic-Film-009-Fantasy-Crystal-Silver and I can't get it to lift off the vinyl on to a transfer tape. I spoke with two reps from uscutter who assured me two different types of transfer tapes (one medium and one high tack.) would work. I purchased both on different occasions and none of them worked. I will like to see if someone has any experience with said vinyl and knows a transfer tape that has worked for them. BTW the review left in the product page was not mine, they also allege to have the same issue with transfer tapes not working properly. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

The older the vinyl the harder it comes off of the backing paper. I had a customer that wanted a decal made from one that he had sitting on a shelf for a while. I was going to mount the existing decal on a piece of coroplas, Take a photo of it , vectorize it and cut it. When I tried to separate the transfer paper and vinyl from the backing paper, the transfer tape came off but the vinyl stayed stuck to the backing paper. You might have to use an exacto knife to help release the vinyl from the backing paper and onto the application tape while you separate the two. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
