kelliann 4 Posted March 14, 2013 Does anyone know an easy way (or if it is possible) to make a silhouette from a color photograph on Sign Blazer or Inkscape? A friend sent me a photograph of his son throwing a football. He wants a vinyl sticker of his silhouette.....Any suggestions?
mb20music 760 Posted March 14, 2013 Should be possible to do with Inkscape, you can use "Trace Bitmap" function to do it. You may have to get rid of the background of the image before doing so. Also it would help if it image is high quality. Once you have it vectorized/traced, you save it as an .eps file and then you can import it in Signblazer. You will then have to get rid of a lot of the nodes by using the "Node Edit" function until you get the silhoutte effect.
kelliann 4 Posted March 14, 2013 I use that pathway quite often for designs. The photo comes out really grainy and not a lot of definition. I think it will be quite time consuming to edit so many nodes. Sometimes, I find it easier just to import a photo into SB and trace the design, creating the image that way.
