ramy 3 Posted October 25, 2012 Will Vinyl stick to a pumpkin? Had a nursing home call for black facial decals to be used for the residence to put on pumpkins. I have never tried this before. Thanks!

piscespokerbrat 80 Posted October 25, 2012 Try it.. take a scrap piece and try sticking it to a pumpkin!
Jay2703 704 Posted October 25, 2012 Make sure the pumpkin is warmed to room temperature first. Otherwise condensation will make it not want to stick.
HybridThread 14 Posted October 25, 2012 Depending on the size it will want to wrinkle real bad since it's got curves. I use a torch to shrink and form the vinyl to the pumpkin. Alternately you can use a heat gun, I wouldn't use a hair dryer personally since it doesn't get hot enough generally. Don't cook the pumpkin though.
slice&dice 2,450 Posted October 25, 2012 The heat gun is useful, because you will be working the vinyl into an uneven and curved surface. Be careful (as HiDef noted above) or else you'll have pumpkin pie !!
BearlyRich 167 Posted October 26, 2012 I would also wipe it down first with alcohol or some other lceaner. As any other vegetable product, it does contain quite a bit of oil even on it's surface.
OWJones 1,981 Posted October 27, 2012 http://www.myvinyldesigner.com/Products/halloween-collection-addon-p5.aspx I'd say that answers the question about pumpkins. :-) Use code 'halloween' to save 31% through Halloween...
dansell 12 Posted November 3, 2012 Also...if you take a nail file and slightly roughen the pumpkin first and wipe with a lint cloth, the vinyl will stick better. Use a heat gun to set it when you have it applied.
