tweetlbug 0 Posted July 11, 2012 I'm curious as to experience of users if its worth it for me to install a serial port in my PC, or if there is no difference in experience with the USB to Serial cables. The price is about the same, since I'm installing it myself, but I thought I'd ask before I went one route or another. using the MH721 with USB>USB currently and it's being a PITA of course. I have to reset it after every cut or I get etch-a-sketch cuts diagonally across the vinyl.
Dr12volt1338 116 Posted July 11, 2012 I would put a serial port in... I was amazed at how much better my machine cut on a serial cable. I know some have good luck on USB but most do not. IF you have a higher end cutter (Graphtec) I would say run the USB and don't worry but with these entry level cutters they prefer serial.
mb20music 760 Posted July 11, 2012 I too would go with a serial port pci card, they are inexpensive and simple to install.
