Adobe illustrator turning my images into blobs?

Recommended Posts

First of all, I am a complete noob when it comes to vector images.

Trying to make vector images to use with my cutter. I take the raw jpeg image, import it into adobe illustrator, Live Trace it, and it makes it a disgusting blob. Is there a way I can keep the lines clean, or a different way to do this?

I have included the before and after.

Thanks!

Adjust the threshold until you get better results. (Turn on preview)

It may be easier to recreate the flowers and duplicate them where you want them.

I just gave that a try and there doesn't seem to be a place in which all of them are clear at the same time. It's as if one is clear and 5 are blobby and so on.

I would focus on getting the tree the best possible then re-create the flowers.

How do I re-create the flowers? I'm a complete noob at this, I just pulled this image off a free image site.

Thank you, that is very helpful!

Is there something else I can do for others, that aren't flowers? I have another tree that has hearts.

Hi I'm Jude and have been drawing vector files since 2000 for the sign, engraving and print industries. If you have a vector graphic but can't cut the right objects, I can make it cut-ready. Even if you don't have the actual graphic (e.g. if you only have a photo of a truck with the graphic sign on the truck) I can reproduce the vector art. I can be your online "fix this graphic" person.
