Hello,

I'm sorry if this topic has already been posted. I did my best to find it before posting.

i have the uscutter 34" Sc cutter/Plotter i have both flexi 10 starter and signblazer using green star vinyl with the stock bladespost-24388-0-50295400-1335122710.jpg that came with the cutter 45 degree i believe

My issue is I'm getting a noticeable but very small wave effect to my straight lines. I've played with the speed, pressure, and used different files. most of the cuts are crisp.it seems like problem is most noticeable when its cutting a straight line at an angle.

have you made sure there is not any vinyl scraps in blade holder? Try a drop of light oil in blade holder so the blade spins freely. Do you have your blade correctly in the blade holder. barely the tip sticking out? Only cutting vinyl, and not into the backing. Have you tried a different vinyl?

Skeeter: it seems to be spinning free but I will look at it closer tomorrow.i haven't noticed it cutting in to the backing but I'll do a few test cuts to make sure.

SBF: I messed with the pitch rollers a little. That don't seem to be an issue.

Thanks you both for the help.

Did you set your blade correctly? By taking the blade holder out of the machine and firmly cutting across a piece of scrap vinyl? You should only be cutting the vinyl and barely a mark on wax paper backing, Then put the blade holder back in machine and do test cuts. Adjusting the force to get the same results.

It's more than likely static build up. Use the pen and if it still draws the waves then it's static. Only thing I've found that helps (but not completely fix the problem) is to turn the cutting speed all the way down. It's a problem that has been talked about a lot on here. I have tried every way possible to ground the machine but find that the one wire from the cutter to stand is best. Anyways turn down the cutter speed and see if that helps.

I get this problem from time to time and have wonder if the Cutting strip can do that if it has some cuts in the strip?

Also if you are having static problems get a anti static mat its a life saver especially with big cuts

One other thing to check- I have seen this issue when importing, say, an SVG file from Inkscape into Corel or Flexi... whereas an EPS provides better results. Would you want to post some artwork you're using?

Update:

after adjusting the blade depth, grounding the cutter to the stand and slowing the cutter speed slightly.the problem seems to be fixed.its kinda odd, cause i have had the cutter since march. and the issue just came up in the last few days.i probably should have tried one solution at a time to diagnose the problem but, i was rushed for time.

I want to thank everyone for their input. saved me a lot of time and aggravation
