USB connection I assume? Do you have the option of connecting that cutter to the computer with the 9-pin Serial instead? You could also make sure there are no unnecessary extra nodes in the design and disable any weed borders to lighten up the file the software is sending to the cutter.

You can put a usb to serial on a laptop.. A Keyspan adapter is great

Example below, can be purchased on UScutter and other electronic stores

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Keyspan-High-Speed-USB-Serial-Adapter-USA-19HS-/120420154018?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c0999baa2

Working with/ and cleaning up designs, goes with the job. You have to know how to to it all, or pay someone to do it.

Nodes are every vector connection point of making up the design. Put the design on wire frame mode and you can see all the nodes in the design.

http://www.uscutter.com/KEYSPAN-USB-SERIAL-ADAPTER-KSPADAPT i bought this but it will not plug up to the cutter as the serial thing is to big

Doesn't your vinyl cutter have a 9 pin serial connection on it? You plug the usb keyspan adapter end to your computer, then connect a serial cable to the 9 pin end of the adapter, then to your vinyl cutter. 9 pin . If it has a 25 pin then get a 9 pin to 25 pin adapter

If you have a 9 pin connection on your vinyl cutter, you connect this type of cable/connection to your vinyl cutter and to the end of the Keypan adapter 9 pin.

If you only have a 25 pin connection on your vinyl cutter, this is what a 9pin to 25 pin adapter looks like
