xJoey Dubsx 42 Posted August 23, 2011 Went out and bought a bottle of The Fabric ink from Speedball, a speedball squeege and 14x10" frame.... Put a negative vinyl template on it... First two runs came out good... The third not soo good..... (The white not on the image is due to the wind catching shirt while ink was wet)... What to do? Wondering if I need some kind of thinner or something? Seems to be too thick and clogging the screen... Please help!
vinylmotivations 143 Posted August 23, 2011 Are you using vinyl as a cover for the screen or actual emulsion?
mopar691 281 Posted August 23, 2011 What mesh screen are you using? Whats your off contact? White should be hit/flash/hit. Using the speedball setup its gunna be a tough road to be consistant with white and have good coverage. Also if your using vinyl with white you really should have it on the garment side of the screen and not ink side. Helps replicate the thickness of the emulsion. More noticable when using white inks and larger mesh screens. Otherwise your pulling to many times and getting the ink ebmedded into the fibers to much to get the coverage your looking for. Starting out with white as your first ink use is gunna make it tough as all heck. White ink is thicker by nature and alot harder to work with than any other. Also your graphic is awefully close to the edge of the screen. Thats going to make it pull harder to as your screen is not going to flex very easily and using to much pressure is not good, even worse with white as it again drives the ink to far into the shirt and pulls the fibers up with the screen.
