hrh_dave 0 Posted August 1, 2011 Hi all... Just bought a ROHS MT871.. the seller provided a few demos of it working with Artcut... Got it home and plugged in etc and found of course no serial ports so found up a serial to USB and have installed the prolific drivers for it... Have subsequently downloaded signblaster as digging round on this forum it seemed to have a better writeup than artcut... Now I have set it to a Roland PNC 1000 through Com4 as that was what it said it was when I installed the driver... Now when I go to cut something it takes a few seconds and then comes up with the error "Cannot open output device. Error initialising Driver" Now I'm trying to run everything on Win 7 Im wondering if that is at the route of the problems or if anyone else has any ideas... I know its more than likely something simple (hopefully)... Any help much appreciated.. Cheers Dave
AshComputers 197 Posted August 1, 2011 Ok, for one, prolific's are a piece of junk IMO. It's in your usb config, that's for sure. Mess around with the usb settings some more and see if you can get it working. If not then Email me and I'll have a look and fix whatever is wrong. Hope this helps

hrh_dave 0 Posted August 1, 2011 Right a little bit of progress... with playing around with the USB settings... I now have SB saying that it is cutting with no errors... unfortunately the cutter is doing nothing... So it seems like it sees the cable (usb to Serial) but doesnt actually send anything to the cutter... <confused> Dave
