Convert Flexi files to EPS or AI

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

New to this forum, and pretty much to the cutting industry as well... I am currently using Illustrator CS2 as my program with Master Cutter to send to the machine. I paint 1/4scale R/C cars as a hobby and have been given a lot of files from my old vinyl guy to use for my self. He unfortunately had to close shop and saved just the files. His files were all saved as Flexi files since thats what he used to send the artwork to the cutter. Illustrator nor Master Cutter will open these files. I have a good amount of them (32 MB in all) and am looking to see if anyone out there would willing to help me out with converting these to an EPS or AI file for me? There's a select few that I would really like to have, but eventually all of them would be great. Anyone out there feel like helping a newbie out?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions, help, or comments...

I may be willing to help depending on the quantity of files and how quickly you want them....

I appreciate the offer!!! I can just get a select few of them I would really like to have, say maybe 8 to 10 tops??? If a turn around period of a few days to a week could happen I would very happy... Let me know if this is a possibilty and throw me your email if so...

Thanks!

Dennis

I heard this will work with Flexi files also, worth a try, I copied this from a post on the forum, but haven't tried yet.

have been using CutStudio for years and had the same problems. What I do if I need to simply convert one of my .cst files is have the design open in cutstudio ; click/highlight the actual artwork I want to convert and copy it to the clipboard (CTRL-C); then open Signblazer (which is free) and then PASTE (CTRL-V) it into an open session of Signblazer. Then resize it in Signblazer, and hit CTRL-E (or go to FILE and EXPORT) in Signblazer and it will take you to the Export Screen ; at the bottom left corner of the screen, change the file type to .EPS, give it a file name, select the location folder to save it to and click OK. Sounds like alot but it only takes a few seconds and it works great for me! Thumbsup
