edge 67 Posted April 21, 2011 These questions came up during a beer induced conversation at the local sports bar recently. If one were to legally purchase a licensed item of fan attire and then add additional text to that item after reselling said item. Would that person be in violation of copyright on that item? If someone were to bring a legally licensed item of attire to you acquired elsewhere and ask to have uncomplimentary text added to that item which by it's presence did not suggest it was a part of the original license, would the act of adding the text be a copyright violation? jeremySI 18 Posted April 21, 2011 you are selling the text , not anything to do with the licensed part. so unless the work you are charging for is licensed then no there is nothing you would be violating.
Dakotagrafx 7,297 Posted April 21, 2011 just my opinion - if you have to ask it probably is not legal. The intellectual property owner gets paid each time a piece of work is sold.
