Hello! So...I want to move my cutter and after looking for a long usb cable in local stores and not finding anything I decided that must not be the way to do it. So I move on to thinking maybe I should be using wireless and remembered I had bought something years ago that I never used. I have this thing: http://www.dynexproducts.com/products/computers/DX-WGUSB.html. I know it's ancient but could I use it to connect the cutter? If not, what other options do I have? Thanks much for any ideas - gotta jump on the spring cleaning thing when it hits!!

I don't think you can delete them like you used to be able to.

Di, what you have is a Wi-Fi adapter that plugs into your computer so it can receive wireless signals. I don't thnk it would help in connecting your cutter. A wireless print server might work but I have never actually tried it.

You know what... I haven't posted anything here after the move that I've desired to remove. So I thought hey why not type in an embarrassing response that I would then have the motivation to find a means to remove. Uh you got a XXXXXX XXXX XX XX along with your XXXXXXX? Hmmmm..thus far I can only edit; not remove.

That would be for attaching a computer that doesn't have wifi, to wifi.

How long of a cable do you need? 16.4 feet is the max on usb length....

Not sure if this would work or not:

YOu can go a lot farther with a serial cable,,if you can use one.

Maybe its in the right place after all since I'm getting responses - but after I posted I saw another LaserPoint thread. Anyway, I'd like to move the cutter to the other side of the room so I searched online for a long usb cable but couldn't find anything above 16 feet. I saw usb extenders and it reminded me that I had the wireless thing that I had never used so I was hoping maybe I could do something with it - apparently its headed for a yard sale. I'm guessing I'd need more than 16 feet, to go around the room the short way would have the wire running across the door and a closet so I don't want to do that. Maybe I'll try the serial cable - is there any downside to that? Thanks for all the responses!!
