Stlouistech 2 Posted February 22, 2011 I have an issue, everytime I cut something the blade holder sounds like it is smacking the damn cutter. My pressure is very low, but I don't want to dull blade. It cuts fine, but I think it is to close to the vinyl? Any opinions?
locknload1 17 Posted February 22, 2011 Take out the blade holder and do a mock cut without it. It may be your carriage making all that noise. What brand/model cutter do you have? Mine is a pcut which means, if it aint smacking, it aint cutting... ;o)
freezermink 3 Posted February 23, 2011 Mine is a pcut which means, if it aint smacking, it aint cutting... ;o) once i got my blade depth to a point where i was getting accurate, clean great cuts, the blade holder was hitting the vinyl when it dropped, causing the same sound you're describing. i now use it as a sign that lets me know that my blade depth is correct. if its the blade holder isn't hitting the vinyl, my blade is too far out. i didn't know if it was good for the blade, the holder, or the carriage, but it seems to be working great.
