fragged8 0 Posted February 6, 2011 hiya Thanks Jay, i really appreciate your help. I got a couple of logos from BOTW and for some reason they are all 26kb ? must be my puter doing odd stuff. the BOTW logo is a bit messy like my tracing so a trace of mine would still be grand :-) For some reason I can do the trace in x4 but straight lines are always wobbly ? is it just me or do vectors always need hours spent on them cleaning them up ? this is as far as i can get.. quicksilver.ai quicksilver.ai
MZ SKEETER 4,708 Posted February 6, 2011 possibly give inkscape.org a try. FREE alot of people on here use it with great results. And yes, you sometimes have to clean up your job. That just goes with the job. Vectorising in Inkscape SolutionThis walk through explains the basics of vectorising in Inkscape. Step 1) Import your image. Click File>Import, find your file and click OK. Step 2) Select the image, go to the top of the screen, click Path>Trace Bitmap. Step 3) The Trace Bitmap menu will then open. Here you can select how you want your image vectorised and adjust the settings. You can also generate a preview. Once you are happy with the preview click OK and close the Trace Bitmap screen. Step 4) Now you will have your new vector image and the old raster (bitmap, jpeg, gif etc) image stacked on top of each other. Seperate the two and delete the raster. Step 5) Play around with your new vector image! Export as an .eps
