Help!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone...I just pressed a shirt using Fellers Fibron Vinyl Transfer.

I have used this stuff a lot and never had this problem.

I just pressed a sweatshirt and I have a white edge which looks like glue from the transfer paper.  Or it could be part of the vinyl.

My question is how do I get rid of it? Can I?

Any advice would be great.

Thanks

Geo

You can try to place a scrap piece of cotton cloth over it and press it again, using less pressure and time. It should warm the adhesive enough for it to stick to the scrap. This is all in theory, as I haven't done so myself.

I took your advise and it removed 90 percent of the left over residue.  It looks good enough that I feel comfortable selling it.

Thanks for your advice.

Saw your post on TSF. Didn't see a reply though.

I'm glad I read this post. Hopefully I'll remember if I ever have the same problem.

This was the first time I ever pressed a sweatshirt.  I sent my customer a photo of the finished product and he sent it out to all his friends.  Lets just say the phone hasn't stopped ringing.

Cool. Good for you.

Do you do your own Screen Printing in WI.?

Do you know Tim Berner? He has an Auto Electric, and can do a whole bunch of shirts really fast.

If you need a contract screen printer, and want his email address let me know.

No I do not know him.  As for screen printing I don't get involved with that kind of  qty's to justify getting it done.

Thanks!
