MacBook pro and Cad software in hand - what else do I need?

I have a great CAD program on my MacBook pro.  Is it possible to drive a cutter without buying specific sign software?  I can save vector files as DXF, DWG, PDF, EPSF and others. 

Also, for making cut vinyl stickers in batches of 100 or so, what cutter recommendations do you have?
