Need help! Text Line for a graphic shirt!

Recommended Posts

Hello

I just vectorizad an 1974 AMC Gremlin (that is a car) for a t shirt design. The thing is that I only have the graphic, but I would like to add some text to it. This is where I need help. I am good at designing, vectorizing and imagining stuff, but I am not good to come up with the text part of the design.

I know not every graphic needs a line, but this one does. I will appreciate any help here. Im looking for something retro, vintage, old, something about the car maybe, something relating the 70s.

Here is the Pic of the car I vectorized

Thank you!

LOL!!! Sweet! You are funny!

Anyways dgreenh, It wont be a pic itself, it will be a vertor graphic.

Who would want a t shirt with a Gremlin? Well I only know myself, but there might be someone else wanting one, maybe a Gremlin owner... who knows?

Anyways, I want it cuz Im a very retro/vintage kind of person, so that explains it

Haha, thank you for your submition.

Hey Terry, Im glad you are happy and enjoying this post! Hahaha! I might send you a Gremlin T shirt later  ;D

Oh, I forgot to mention that I already have a shirt with a Plymouth Champ and one with a Suzuki Samurai, you can see them in my website (which is in my profile). And coming soon one with a Chevy nova, but this one is going to be made with the plotter and the Gremlin one too. Why I do this? I just love old cars.

I need a text line for real. I was just keeping up the joke, but I dont think I will use that line for production.

LMAO @ Terry

Here are a few facts that I found about it...

First modern, U.S.-built subcompact car to market beating Ford and Chevy to the market.

Gremlin's basic design was penned on the back of a Northwest Orient barf bag.  I like that one.

Bigger engine, less weight.  The hotrod of '70s subcompacts.

the "kamm-back" tail treatment proved to be a bit controversial for some and became the basis for the inevitable "what happened to the rest of your car?" wisecracks.

The Gremlin was quicker than other subcompacts but, alas, that only meant you heard the jeers and laughter that much sooner.  ;D

That was very informative dgreenh!

Thanx a lot  :you rock:

I like the: "what happened to the rest of your car?" Thats funny!

Anyways, I this it was brilliant to drop a big engine in a small car. Maybe Ill draw a Ford Pinto and a Chevy Chevette to make company to the Gremlin

Thanx dgreenh!

My history class for the day.  Gremlin beat the Pinto and Vega to market.  I think that Vega pre-dates the Chevette.

My brother used to have a Chevette. He used to tell all the girls he had a "Vette".

I'm going to have to agree with Terry on this one...

In this thread, we have seen 2 fine examples of why AMC is no longer in business.  ;D
