Cutter Freezing up

Recommended Posts

I am attempting to cut 4 copies of the same file.  For some reason in both sign cut and Blazer, it cuts one copy and then the display board says it is waiting.  It does not continue after waiting for a while  Do I need to reset something??

What type of connection are you using from you computer to your cutter?

depending on how large the designs are and how many nodes.  Your cutter may not have the memory for doing multiple decals.  It also could be dropping from the USB.

Thanks for the help.  I have gone to cutting one at a time.  Now, what do I ask for when I go to the computer store that will replace the usb port thing.  I know it is a serial Port?  Can somebody describe to me what it looks like or what I should ask for?

The best way is to use the serial cable that came with your plotter and a computer with a serial port in the back.  If you do not have a serial port on a desktop use a serial card like this one:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815166003&cm_re=serial_card-_-15-166-003-_-Product

If you must use a laptop (cringe) then get a Keyspan serial adapter card: http://www.uscutter.com/KEYSPAN-USB-SERIAL-ADAPTER_p_212.html

This unit works best of all the adapters but you are still converting to usb.

Laptops are convenient but that's it . . . repair is more costly than replacement in most cases. A desktop of the same speed processor will outperform a laptop any day.  a desktop can be easily updated (except dell) - laptop only HD and Memory is really easy to upgrade.  Ohhh the list goes on and on, I can't believe how many coworkers buy them and then have something break and want to complain about the repair cost or having to replace the unit.
