help needed changed computer now cutter only cuts every third or fourth attempt

I just recently switched to a new computer.  got everything hooked up using a usb to serial cable.

Windows 7 machine no serial port.

running signblazer

Blazer com3 prolific usb to serial

Baud 9600

data 8

priority none

stop bits 1

Flow controll  hardware

cutter cuts great when it cuts but will only cut every third or fourth time that it is given the command,  otherwise shows connecting but nothing hapening.

had to replace motherboard about two years ago and everything has been fine since.  overall very happy with cutter would like to just fix current problem.
