lynnpromotions 0 Posted July 26, 2010 LP 24. I cut an oval, 20" by 36" and the completion of the oval is off by about 1/4 inch. Cutting 24" Oracal 651. Speed is 20. Cutting force is 100, blade is clean cut 60 degree. Thoughts on how to fix this?
SmallSigns 23 Posted August 19, 2010 Do you prefeed the vinyl before cutting? I do this every time to check tracking and adjust as necessary.
lynnpromotions 0 Posted August 21, 2010 we roll out the vinyl behind the cutter but don't prefeed the entire amount. We do check that it running straight but what else would happen if we did a prefeed all the way? Why would that work?
rrc1962 0 Posted August 21, 2010 Reduce pressure a little at a time until you see an issue, then increase it a little. When you cut a long line on one side of the vinyl, it will throw the tracking off. You can feed the full length, but even if it feeds straight, the blade pressure will still throw it off. The 2 fixes are to increase roller pressure and/or decrease blade pressure. You should also check the rulers on the machine. Mine are off by about 1/16". If I line up the vinyl at 3" on both the front and rear rulers, it walks to the left every time. If I line up the front at 3 - 1/16 it tracks straight. lueman 19 Posted September 27, 2010 Prefeeding helps find any tenting issues which can through alignment off.
