With the pen tracing the right path, the only difference is the blade holder and blade.  The actual blade may be the problem - change it and see if the problem goes away.  Did you look at the opening in the blade holder?  No sticky bits of vinyl there? - I had a tiny center out of some 1/4" text jamming my blade and causing it to cut weird.  Took a magnifying glass for me to see it - plucked it out and no more problems.
