James605 7 Posted June 11, 2010 thermal is EXPENSIVE to run... i would steer clear if it were me. You are talking about the older ribbon models correct. If your talking about an EDGE printer or the sort those are new technology but are still pricey to run but you can get some neat stuff from them... If your looking to get into large format printing check with jfought, fivestar, neron they got deals on printers that are converted...good as new...as for me i went with a versacamm...ALOT more than a converted printed with not alot more features...
