Who use contour cut with a Graphtec CE5000-60?

Recommended Posts

I am the position to move from PCut with manual laser to Graphtec CE5000-60.

I will only choose it for the ARMS function.

Although the manual laser point works fine on 40x40 cm sheets when I go longer in length there is some difference and the contour gets out of line.

Who is using the contour function with the robomaster 2 software or any other.

I do not print the graphic myselve this is done by an professional print shop.

I have to contour cut them so the to be printed file needs cropmarks.

Thanks in advance.

Paco

I use the CutMaster II on a smaller Graphtec. Some of my media has a hand cut edge which can effect the skew when printing. In other words, the registration marks aren't always parallel to the edge, this can occasionally cause frustration when attempting to read the marks.

Did I understand you to say the graphic will be printed offsite and then cut by you? If that's the case, the printer will need the registration marks in the project when you send it to them and if the project becomes resized at any point during that process; there could be issues with your reading the marks.

Thanks for the video link.

This is my current work flow.

I design in Corel X4.

Make one layer with graphic data.

Make one layer with the contour lines.

Make one layer with 4 regmarks.

I convert the Corel .crd file to .PSD with the graphic data and regmarks and send the print file to the printshop.

They print and laminate and send it to me.

It can happen the print file is not exactly the same size as the original file.

This is a problem of solvent vinyl printing.

I open Corel and and switch off the data layer and the regmark and contour layer on.

Send this to Signcut Pro and set the three reg marks and then it contour cuts.

Signcut can compensate for skew and difference in original file and printed file.

I can make the printed files with a larger border so the reading eye will not have any problem at the edge.

From what I understand you can make multiple regmarks to compensate with promaster2?

This will reduce possible size difference?

This is what Graphtec page says:

ARMS
