DTG PRINTING

Recommended Posts

I DO VINYL CUTTING AND HAVE DONE REAL WELL WITH HEAT TRANSFER SHIRTS BUT I HAVE RECENTLY BECOME INTERESTED IN DTG PRINTING. I'M CONSIDERING A T JET BLAZER EXPRESS. I CAN BUY FACTORY REFURBISHED FOR A REASONABLE PRICE. I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE HAD ANY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS TYPE OF MACHINE OR DTG IN GENERAL. THANKS

There are forums and sub-forums for each type of machine at the t-shirt forums.  I recommend you read extensively before you drop the cash on a machine.

If I am not mistaken, the company that was producing T-jets went out of business last year.  I had heard there were several people planning to buy the excess inventory for parts and provide service.

I looked into it, and it doesn't make sense for what I do.  It's expensive, slow, and serves a niche market.  I'm sure there are many people making money with mall kiosks and such, but IMO, the cost and maintenance headaches just don't make it worth it.  If I really had the market for full color one-off shirts, I'd do sublimation or inkjet transfers.  Sublimation is equal or better in quality, IMO and cheaper.

+1 cost versus payback would be as slow as sublimation!
