8 ft banner price, how much?

I would be at $144.00 each and they could take it or leave it.  I'm actually so busy right now I am about 2 weeks out on everything on the vinyl/t-shirt side.

what some people call 'lowballing' some others call 'a decent, fair price'.

I have noticed that the ones who use the term 'lowballing' are usually the ones who are 50-100% over the average price in my area.

So from my supplier...should have somewhere in the neighborhood of $15 in materials, so we'll call it 20.  I figure it will take me an hour (and thats generous I think).  I would price it at $80 ea. and take my $60 an hour to the bank personally.  If it was more intricate, and more colors, I would probly be $100 or upwards...just depends on how long I think it should take me.

There is really no reason you can't get both done in that hour IMO.  If I can be busy 4 hours a day and average $50 per hour, thats 200 per day, or 6k per month.  Guest, if you don't mind me asking, how long do you work to get your 6k per month if you are charging those high of prices?

BWAAAAHAHAHAHAAA threads turning into a Banner Brawl LOL!

Im guessing im about right at the 125 a piece mark based on most of your comments, but given that im still fairly new at this and have only done 4 banners total so far, (doing mostly vehicle stuff) how in the HECK do you do one of these banners in under an hour?!?!

It took me probably 2 hours to cut weed and mask all the parts, and at LEAST 2 more hours to apply it all to the banner and I thought I was FLYING thru it as I had other stuff to do afterwards.

Also my material cost was alot higher than 20 bucks per banner, i would guess more in the 40 to 50 dollar range.

The more you do, the faster you get. I pay $40-$55 a roll for 15 inch vinyl. That puts it less than 0.35 a running foot. a 2x8 banner with 3 lines of text is gonna take about $8 worth of vinyl. I pay $8 for the banner blank that size. I have approx $16 in materials, and about an hour of labor.

I could do it for $80 and make good money. But I'm not into it to get rich...I enjoy what I do, I like to keep busy, and my customers are also my friends.

I don't like paying $3 a pound for tomatoes either. I treat people the way I like to be treated..a fair price ,period.

Yeah no doubt the speed will come, but im stuck paying Canadian prices for everything from local suppliers or I get nailed hard on brokering fees from the states.

The banner material I had to buy a full roll cuz APPARENTLY no one stocks black banner material in Toronto, and that was 150 plus taxes for a 24 yard roll, so call it 7 bucks a yard, about 2.40 a linear foot = 19.20

The vinyl was 1.50 a yard for 15" wide Oracal, I used about 16 yards = 24 bucks

App tape, Rapid Tac 2 paper towels tape etc.... 5 bucks

So by my estimation Ive got about 48 bucks in materials into each one assuming my math is right.

Thats alot for your cost. I mean they wholesale for that cost and thats making money...

Anyone ever charge "wealthy" people more than a bum off the street???

I might sell this to a guy in a ford escort for $75

A guy in a brand new BMW,lexus..etc...Hes paing $125

Is that wrong. I see it everyday, I just wanted to know if anyone does this with banners and decals?

I just have one price for all. If I know it's for a non-profit that doesn't have a lot of money, I give a discount.

Most of the people I know who 'appear' wealthy are in debt up to their eyeballs. They can't afford to pay as much as the guy with the escort.

I will charge more for doctors and lawyers. IF I accept the job at all.

I don't like doctors and lawyers. They usually want $100 or more an hour for their time but try to talk me down,as if my time is worth nothing.

#1 on doctors and lawyers gave a proposal to a Dr. for replacement windows and thought i was going to have to give him CPR then after he got prices from larger co. called me back to install the same window at 40% less.  I check the local prices most of my sales are installed so i can charge more easier than some one that sells rta. and the install usually only takes a couple hours

It's funny how banner talk slowing gets into lawyers and doctor rates.

I feel with all the aggression to companies that offers low cost sqft prices, I don't even want to tell you how much I would charge for a the banner in question. You all might bash me.

not me...as long as you're making money and are happy with it, it's fine by me. And really nobody's business but yours. I'll do a 3x8 for $50 if I'm in a good mood and it's someone I like. It's all good.

besides, the bashing is kinda one sided...if you read the thread.

Ok, we are in the same boat with pricing I am at $48 for 3x8. Plus we ship for free. Which is nuts. It's not the single order sales that make it worth I tell you that... You know what I mean.
