This type of thing can be as small as one pixel x 1 pixel, impossible to see with the naked eye. Norton sometimes misses malware, and I think this was more malware than virus..not that it's a lot of difference. IF you went there, it might not be a bad idea to run malwareBytes, just to be safe.
