week long project

Recommended Posts

well about a week ago i came home to a msg from my father. apparently he had told my uncle in arizona that i now had a cutter and could do a ton of 2 color decals for next to nothing (thanks dad)...  so i did what i had to do, and luckily i had the shield design already made up from another uncle of mine in a much larger format.

each decal took 10 minutes a piece to cut and almost 2 -3 hours a piece to weed because the cutter was acting up...

So the past week, between easier jobs this has been my weeding nightmare.

enjoy.

the nice part of this deal is i mounted 2 examples and they will be displayed along with a bunch of my business cards at all of the meetings. so hopefully it drums up business in other areas.

B)  B) Very nice We are always most critical of our own work.

Just curious - how long did this take from the design work to the final product?

With all of the changes. The first SF design i did for a bigger back window... i took a tiny jpg to the light table and re-traced it out which took 20 min or so. scanned it, and played on the computer. spent about and hour doing layout stuff on their. then testing. So 1.5 hours in design, then on the smaller SF decals it was about 2 -3 hours worth of weeding and assembly per decal :

for the most recent one, i spend about an hour doing layout and tracing, and a few hours doing test cuts and things.

the dog took about 30 min worth of node editing.

Here's a larger version of the insignia (minus the arrows) that may help you get the detail you want in the top.
