Cutting contours

I have Flexi 7.6 and I want to cut out a contour. I have a vector picture of a truck and just want to cut the outline of it (so it's one solid piece), I used the contour effect but when I go to cut it still shows up as the whole truck to cut and not just the contour.

I know its old but, what I do for what I think you want to do is outline the image and set it to 0.0" and then separate outline and pull it away from the original and bam you have it.
