PS:

THIS IS THE POST I FOUND TO LOCATE AND INSTALL THE CORRECT DRIVER:

There is a 64 Bit driver on the website. Navigating from this page, (http://www.rolanddga.com/owners/support/productList.asp) simply choose the GX-24, then choose Setup/Install Guides. On that list, there is a readme file that outlines the procedure to install the driver in Windows 7, since it is not plug and play. Once you have that, download the driver from the pull down Drivers list on the same page.

It is still in beta, but we have been running it for some time here, and have had no issues with Vista 64 Bit. We have also had good luck with Windows 7, despite the somewhat convoluted installation procedure.

I tried to install the driver on my 64 bit machine.  I couldn't get it to work. Called Roland support a few weeks ago and never got a call back.

I had an old computer over in the corner that was 32 bit and I got my cutter to work fine.  I just use a thumb drive to move things back and forth.  It's a pain, but I haven't had the time or energy to play with it the last few weeks.

i found the key to getting it to work was to CAREFULLY, REALLY CAREFULLY, read the readme.txt file that came with the 64 driver I linked to on my post above. Once I did that, I was able to get it to see the cutter and it worked perfectly. The key is to install it at a time when you are not in a hurry and clear of other thoughts and to follow the instrucitons exactly. Then you will be good.

On installing the Plug in for Corel,. same thing. Was a little complicated, but if you do EXACTLY what it says in the readme file, that works too.

I hope this helps you becuase having it work on the right machine is a dream.

Guest HowardI

My machine here is a 32 bit and I don't have a GX24 at home, so I haven't done the 64 bit install yet.

I'm extremely glad to hear you're up and running and expect to see some entries from you in the "show your work" pages.
