What? You talking about the blade holder? Blade holder always goes in closest to the cutter and plotter is the one closest to you.

Well, just got home from shipping Prestons cutter back to him as well as picking up the UPS. 330watts of power, so I hope this thing solves my problems.

*update* didn't solve a single thing. same issue.

Mader let the UPS charge and then unplug it from the wall and try again.

Yeah I was gonna recommend that too....once the UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) is charged you can test the cutter with just that and see if it works better (without the UPS plugged into any outlet). It's still a bit worrying that the problem exists with the UPS at all tho....aren't UPS's also supposed to give a cleaner current? Which brand and model UPS did you get?

If it still has the same error without being plugged into the wall, then there's probably some kind of other field interrupting things....magnetic, cellular, etc. As others mentioned, the issue may not be with you but possibly your neighbors as well.

The trick now is to isolate electrical from something else and it sounds like you're almost there.

Thing is though, when I rotate the "Rockstar" logo so that it's not at an angle it cuts better,  It's only the diagonal straight lines, not curved or anything. I just tried to cut the "LAWN-BOY" logo and the same results, but only certain letters, like the W, and the A are effected. The Y and N were not as bad. It just seems like for some reason it's having trouble cutting diagonals. This problem stays consistent and not in and out or spastic like static. It does it each time same place same amount.

I'll wait until it charges to see if it works. If this does work with it unplugged, what could I possibly do after this?

I will never live with my mom again lol, and I'm sure my wife wouldn't want that either. I'm gonna call AEP and see what I can do.

I was just watching a webinar and they said jagged lines are caused by defective or bad blade holders (blade not moving smoothly in holder) or improperly installed blades. Just tossing out my 2 cents.

Ok, so tell me, how should i be "installing" this blade :)

I just called AEP and they are coming to test the lines today.

This doesn't just happen with the Blade, but also with the Plotter. So explain this lol

Ok guys, unplugged the UPS, and ran from the power of the battery, guess what, STILL doing the same thing. I'm clueless now.

Mader,

Now I'm curious.

This test cutter Preston sent you... What brand and model was it? Same as the one you have?

Are there any other fields around which could be messing with your cutter? At least the issue is probably not your wiring. Is there a way to turn off the cell-phone tranmitter/amp thing? Is there anything else which could be messing with things in your environment?

At this point we can be fairly certain that this issue is peculiar to your environment...now of course...what is it? I'd say replicating the error off the battery rules out the electrical in your home which is good news, in a way.

Idea: Take the UPS and your cutter out in the yard, bathroom, garage, patio or something...try it in different places where the cutter might not receive interference and see if you can get it to cut properly anywhere on  your property. This might help clue in where the interference is coming from. Also be sure to turn off all electrical devices in the area when testing. I had a TV once which was messing with some of my audio recordings, and I had no idea till I discovered it by accident.

If the interference is going through walls you'll see this error everywhere, if not you might be able to find a place where you can cut ok.

I have an idea Mader - just live vicariously through the forum.  We'll let you know about all our exciting experiences with our cutters, and you just imagine that it's you having the fun.  LOL.

The cutter I sent Mader is the same model he purchased.  USCutter MH-871.  Which I used flawlessly for about 1 month.

Curious though Mader - did you use the power cord I sent you, or the same one you were already using with the bad cutter?

Preston - I used 2 different ones from the cutters I received.

Nukleon - No other fields that I can see of. I turned off the Sprint Airave and it didn't change. I've taken the machine into other rooms, and even to next door neighbors, still nothing. AEP was supposed to come check the outside and didn't come today, so hopefully tomorrow.

When you turn off the sprint device try unplugging the power cord as well.  Lots of new electronics don't fully turn off when you tell them to turn off.  just an idea.

If that doesn't work wallpaper the room with aluminum foil and ground the wallpaper.  ;D

I do have to give you credit though.  This is the most unique problem I've ever seen with a cutter.

I have pretty much ruled everything out. Guess i'm not "cut out" for the cutting business. Not sure what else to do now, guess cut with it. When i turned the Sprint Airave off I did unplug it. So iunno, we'll see what AEP says.

I'm not going to ship anymore unless it's back to USCutter. I've already spent $130 shipping these things all over the country. Next thing I'm going to do is talk to James605 and Fivestar about making a trip to them, that way I can take the cutter with me and watch this thing and see what's up. Also need a job done from them ;D
