Your posting in the PCUT Request so I am assuming you have a PCUT.. The Standard PCUT does not have the contour cutting feature, you will need the laser point or graphtec/roland in order to do contour cutting

Wrong wrong wrong.

You can contour cut with a non laser point machine.

Only thing is you have to swap/exchange the pen and the knife everytime.

The laserpoint only makes it easier for not swapping with manula contour cut.

I'm not wrong in the fact that the PCUT does not have the Contour Cutting Feature "Built in".. Thats is nice that you can finagle the machine to do so but please supply some instructions for the OP or link them on how to do it. The only few posts I've read about doing it on a PCUT has been hit or miss if it works correctly..

Hmmm,  yes, if someone has experience manually contour cutting it would be a great help to have some detailed step by step.

I have been thinking about it, but haven't tried it yet.

just knowing the basic steps needed would be a great start. some photos and specifics would be excellent!

signs used to be "easy" just lay it out and paint the letters anyway ya want. now its all high tech, plastic ink, and layers of vinyl. eh :)

For manual contour cut.

Sorry I missed your posts with the request.

We are talking about SC contour cut and Corel Draw.

In your cutter place the plotter pen.

In SC adjust the difference for LASER POINT offset to 0

Create in CRD two layers.

Layer 1 contains the picture you like to print.

Layer 2 contains the cutlines and registration marks.

Print both layers on your printer.

In CRD switch OFF the print layer 1.

Send the cut layer 2 via the signcut icon to SC.

Go to the contour cut section in SC.

Follow the direction on screen and try to use the tip of the pen to align on the regmarks printed.

As the pen is upwards you can press it by hand downwards slowly to see if your 100% close.

At the last regmark set, replace the pen for the knife holder and hit the CUT button.

SCX2 has two regmarks

SC PRO has three regmarks (advanced contour cut)

Remember that regmarks size for contour cut in SC are standard set at 10 mm.

If you use a box as outside line as regmarks set this regmarks size to zero.

I hope this helps, if not let me know.

thanks Paco

that gives a pretty good map of how to get there, should be the same in most drawing programs too.
