Problem with Lynx Bobcat

Recommended Posts

Lately, I have been message lights on my cutter during all my cut jobs.  The illuminated lights indicate  "image clipped while cutting".  Ultimately that means that the far right side edge of my cuts are not always complete.  Does anybody know why it's doing this?  Images are well with in the size of the vinyl and within the cutting area(between the rollers).  I end up having to use the exacto knife to finish some of the cuts.   This cutter is the same as the Vinyl Express Endura Cut from Sign Warehouse.

Is this a new cutter?  What cutting software are you using?  If New cutter, have you tried your Tech support where you purchased it?  If still under warranty I would try the tech support.

no, it's almost 3 years old.  I am using a simple program called Cibercut Pro from Cibercat.  Has been working fine the last year, just started doing this out of the blue. I left a message with tech support, just no response yet......

Hey RPM,

I am having kinda the same problem. Did you get it resolved yet?

I have a 24" Vinyl Express Lynx using LXi 7.0 (expert).  software. I'm not sure if it's the one above or below the Bobcat. Anyway, about two weeks ago mine started acting weird. When I hit "cut", the blade will "float" around above the vinyl like it's cutting for about 10-15 seconds, then, it moves to another part of the artwork and drops the blade and starts cutting. So I'm also left with some parts that aren't cut. Sometimes I can go back with my Xacto knife but most of the time not.

I don't have an LED display on my machine so it doesn't say, "image clipped while cutting". In fact, my "error" light doesn't go on indicating that there is a problem.

Also, I reloaded the software, plugged and re-plugged everything but...no dice.

I hope someone can help me out there.

THANKS!

Handsome,,

sorry for the delay in responding.  I could not get info from anybody, so I ended up buying a Pcut from uscutter.  Figuring it out pretty quick.  Trying to get all my old artwork into this program is gonna be tough.

well SignBlazer is free and you can download it right here on the forum...   You can probably find a driver that may work. also LXI  is a version Of Flexi made for Signwarehouse....  You can purchase a copy of Flexistarter8.6 for $99.00  FREE ship  on EBAY.

Guest HowardI

You might see if the hasp driver has an update on the net.  It's not provided specifically by flexi, it's by the people who make the key and I'm sure they are working on if not already done with the update.

Well this is really getting my blood pressure up now... I ordered a new Lxi 8.6 that signware house said i needed at 200.00 bucks. Then i get it and try my cutter then come to find out i cannot use a usb cord and my new computer don't have any serial ports open to use. So i call them back up and they tell me i need a Keyspan usb serial adapter. So OK I'm really needing this to work so i can do my jobs i have been waiting to do for 2 weeks now. This Keyspan cost me 60.00 bucks. So now I'm in 260.00. So I'm thinking good i have everything i need to get going, well guess what.    It STILL DONT WORK!!!!! I have tried to contact signwarehouse multiple times. I get the answering machine so i leave a message,  I still have not heard back from them. There Tech support says they are open from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm. Well they must be sleeping or only have 1 person working.  This is the kind of things that make me want to just sell it all!!!!!!

I'm loosing money and Patience every minute.. :-  If anybody has any suggestion i would gladly like to hear them.  And by the way i have a 24" Bobcat cutter

I have the version of SignBlazer and patch that CutMe loaded here:

http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=2ac54735f0a4688e36df4e8dca1419690656e47f71c760335be6ba49b5870170

It has drivers that will run my SignWarehouse VE cutter. (Vinyl-Express GRC-30)I think yours would use the same driver.

and the patch for DeonCarpenter:
