chuck 0 Posted February 8, 2007 I found that my refine cuts monocoat very well. I have to experiment on how to apply it now.
TaterNuts 3 Posted February 8, 2007 I have never heard of monocoat? Could you please explain what it is?
thredz 1 Posted February 12, 2007 Monocoat is a heat shrink vinyl type material that is used to coat balsa wood rc aircraft and rockets and I guess a lot of other things. My little brother builds rockets and uses it to decorate his rockets (Coogan Aerospace). It's a heat applied material. They have these little irons you buy to apply with.It would probably be a good venture if you had an rc club or a lot of rc hobbiests in your area.I'll have to get my brother to let me cut a design to apply to one of his rockets and see how it works. knight 0 Posted February 28, 2007 Theres a few companies that make that type of material. I build model r/c airplanes with this stuff. Theirs Monokote and Ultracote and one other one I cant think of at the moment. It starts to shrink at or around 275deg making a tight skin on the airframe. Just like vinyl rolls, monokote comes in different colors patterns, but I wouldn't recomend it for anything other than model stuff. Really not all that durable for the regular consumer stuff.
