Blade dragging . . carraige not lifting ? ?

Recommended Posts

Hello all.

I am new to cutting and have purchase the creation pcut ctn630 24"

I am using oracle vinyl

new desktop with windows vista

serial connection.

sign blazer software

the carriage is dragging the blade across the design and back to the start point.

I have grounded the unit to a water pipe.

blade is barely sticking out and cut pressure is 120

when design is finished the carriage is not raised up.

have read as many posts as i can on this problem but can't seem to get it to stop dragging.

I have the same problem whether doing cuts of text created in the program or with simple designs such as a peace sign imported then vectored.

Thank you all in advance for you help,

Justin

here is a good example with the pen attached in plotter mode rather than the cutter.

see the lines from starting point.. throughout the cut and returning.

also i have weeding turned off on sign blazer

Thanks again,

Justin

Today i read a thread from pace that he was having same issue and he suggested taking the cover of the carraige off to inspect.. running the machine with the cover off fixed the problem. Something must have  been bound up not allowing the blade to raise.

Thanks

that happens with mine once in a while.  I'm not sure what causes it.  Thankfully it doesn't happen often!

It's caused by the carriage arm tightening screw rubbing on the case.

Either loosen the screw a little or take the cover off of the carriage.
