Multiple Colors

I read a post on silk screening using vinyl masks as the emulsion, but how do you register multiple colors? Is it a matter of hit or miss, or is there an actual technique??? Any Info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, but that is only a one color print. I need to print a tiger which consist of 4 colors, is there an easy meathod of registration using the vinyl meathod?

multi colors requires multi emultion screens. They will have registration marks to line them up so they will fit right and then the registration marks are taken off before burning the image in the screen.

If you are using vinyl instead of emulsion, you will need to print the individual components of your image (how ever many colors you have) with registration marks for each color separation. These can simply be tiny circles or squares which remain in the same location from separation to separation. A 3-color image will obviously have 3 screens, but the marks for each separation remain in the same location. Once the vinyl has been placed on the mesh (and the vinyl needs to be placed in the same general location from screen to screen, but not exactly), place a copy of one of the vinyl separations w/ registration marks on the platen in order to align the screens to this reference point. If you're using a 1-station 4-color setup, you can then align the screens to the platen registration marks using the frame hold-down screws. Remove all screen registration marks and you should be able to print as desired. Obviously, this isn't labor smart for one-ups, but it's intended for multiple runs.
