wasatchcars 0 Posted June 30, 2009 I have a job replacing vinyl on a plexy glass donut case the decals are gone but there is a good amount of the old glue on there I don't want to use a blade on it or thinner to remove it thinking I will do damage What do you all suggest I use that will remove the old glue but not harm the plexy glass ? Guest round2racing Posted June 30, 2009 I use Goof-Off and a credit card. The Goof-Off softens the adhesive to a gummy consistency and the credit card pulls it off. I use this on the side of the race car when I have to replace the number because someone has put a round tire burn on my numbers and smeared them off the side. It is oily, so you will need a good cleaner to clean it off when you finish removing the adhesive. I use simple green, because it doesn't mar the surface. Alcohol works, but takes a lot of work and can sometimes cloud the plexi. GOOD LUCK!!!
