you have been warned about refine 50"!

Recommended Posts

Just a thought.

Is it possible that the rollers that the roll of vinyl sits on is not parallel to the cutter?

I would believe that if these had any front to back, or up and down difference that in the long run

it would alter the feed into the rollers.

This could be the reason USC didnt find any problems when they had it.

This issue would be in the stand in relation to the cutter.

Like I said this is just a thought, but I believe that it could contribute to alot of tracking issues.

Opinions Please.

Dave

ETA:Think of a converor(sp) belt. if both ends dont track the same, then over time the belt

will move from one side or the other.

I was wondering if you tried to run a piece of vinyl cut from the roll.

That would be how I would think yu could elimate the problem.

Anyway it was just a idea, sorry it didnt work. and I would think that

the feedroller is all you have left to try.

Come on USC lets get Sennxxx back on the right track.(pun intended)

Not snarky, and certainly not mean: just fact. Don't believe me? Check out their craigslist ads for employment. And to be honest, I could care less if they no longer want me to be part of this forum. I am only here to assist whoever I can because it feels good to help those in need, and if stating fact gets me banned: so be it.

For the record, if anyone bans you it won't be me and if it happens I will be right behind you.

For the sake of being less "snarky", I went ahead and changed the word "minions" to: "employees".

Thanks, John. I have always done what I could, nothing more/ nothing less.

Feed rollers are not stocked parts, or at least they were not a couple of months ago. I think you need another unit. Especially since you sent it back for repair and they did not fix it. If you already paid to ship it back for repair and they did nothing but ship it back, I would request a call tag so it goes back this time on their dime.

Yeah....I can say I am less than happy with my last order from USC.  First they removed the 30" vinyl that I had requested and got put on there, basically was told they no longer want to drop ship from Oracal.....and they still don't have it in stock.  Then I never got my tracking number, I had to put in a support ticket before Levi actually sent me my tracking number, it took 2 full days to ship, so it didn't actually go anywhere til the 3rd which meant it was a full 7 (I think...maybe it was 6 I would have to go double check) business days from order to receipt of vinyl.....so I decided to try fellers for the 30" vinyl I needed since I am not a huge fan of SW......I ordered a catalog at 4, it was there the next day...looked at it for a day, had some questions emailed, got a same day callback from an extremely friendly and helpful rep....went ahead and placed and order and had it the next day.  Day 1 ordered catalog at 4PM, day 2 had catalog, day 3 emailed questions got call back and ordered, day 4 had vinyl, all that 3 days faster that just placing an order and receiving it from USC....and I get free shipping on all orders over $75..not to mention they sent me avery and shinerite color samples without me asking, because i mentioned oracal was the only vinyl I had really dealt with and they said they wanted me to see the others.

USC.......I will say this, Ken was always the one that helped me and he was AWESOME at it, fast, genuinely cared, and always made people on these forums happy.  I am willing to give the new guys time to find their feet and get running, I know that takes time as I am in the support business.....but if things don't improve greatly I am going to lose some of my USC loyalty.  I really think USC needs to really up their forum presence, its kinda sad that a person who no longer works for them seems to help people as much or more than his replacements!

I will say this though, I still love my refine, and am very happy with that part of my dealings with USC, but then again I haven't had any problems since Ken left.

I think there is some confusion here. Senn sent back his unit.. and we fixed it. The machine tracked CONSISTENTLY to about 7-8ft which is standard for these machines. The reason it had tracking issues before he sent the unit back into us is because someone had rammed the pinch roller up onto the screw that keeps it on the cross beam. This essentially broke the pinch roller so we replaced it and tested the tracking thoroughly and did not experience any further issues. I am sorry that you are unhappy with the unit you bought, but when it left here it was working like new.

levi, The pinch roller being jamed had to be from the shipping it back to you. I know you say the cutter tracks fine for about 8 feet, Im sorry to say this is not so on the  first and second roller togather. I dont know how to tell you guys to make you understand i know what im talking about. This cutter will only track 6 feet and during this six feet it will slide  right about a 1/2 inch and then left untill the pinch roller is not in contact with the left side of the vinyl......it only happen when using the first and secound feed roller togather.I can get it to track on every other roller togather<2&3, 3&4, 4&5 with no problem what so ever. Please take this serious .im not another rookie that just bought my first cutter.I think my problem was overlooked.

I had asked you to rearrange the pinch rollers to be absolutely certain that the problem isn't in them but you refused.

I ask again for you to either rearrange them, or use the 1 & 2 rollers on another part of the machine and be SURE it's the feed roller and not the pinch rollers.

If you could humor me and try this I would really appreciate it.

For the record here....I visit USC often and they are quite helpful when I am in there...every one of them from the office team to the techy support all the way to the shipping dept.  Now I must say that I don't know the "new team" very well, but it takes time to learn to swim so give them a break.  Yes Ken was AMAZING at what he did there and for us all and maybe he got a bumb rap, but OBVIOUSLY there is something better out there for him and we are lucky he is still here with "US".  Thanks Ken

BTW...sennxxx, Levi is AMAZING at what he does so put your energy at resoving the problem with him.  Brandon is new so his comment (that's what your money buys) definately needs some TWEEKING and TLC :-

Well put, thank you.

Yes, Levi is just as capable, and knows the units as well as I did, so I have faith that this will be resolved.
