marcmcm 0 Posted April 30, 2009 I had to get a new mtherboard and the new one doesn't have an LPT1 port. The serial port i too close to the video port so the serial won't fit. I'm left with USB and I installed the USB 2.0 driver and it still doesn't cut. Which port do I tell it to use in Signcut? I tried Summa USB and Gamma USB and neither do anything. The cutter worked great when hooked up LPT1, now it won't do anything. Any ideas?
kenimes 42 Posted April 30, 2009 USB driver not installed properly. The USB 2.0 driver was for the old Serial to USB cable. The direct USB connection has a different USB chipset, and the drivers can be found here: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm
marcmcm 0 Posted May 6, 2009 I have the old Serial to USB. I tried the old and new drivers, neither one is making it cut.
kenimes 42 Posted May 19, 2009 Instead of using the old Serial to USB cable, you should now be able to use a direct USB to USB cable- like the same type of cable a printer uses.
marcmcm 0 Posted June 2, 2009 Instead of using the old Serial to USB cable, you should now be able to use a direct USB to USB cable- like the same type of cable a printer uses. That would be great if my Copam had a USB connection on it. All I have is parallel and serial.
kenimes 42 Posted June 2, 2009 You will need to use a Serial to USB cable then.
