cutting through on one side and not at all on the other

i have a pcut 24 that i am cutting some letters with but it seems to be cutting through the vinyk and the backing towards the middle of the vinyl strip and barely or not at all cutting on the right side towards the push button module on top of the machine

anyone have any ideas why it would do that - i have set and reset the pressure settings and blade depth to the best of my nowledge ... but then i am kinda new to this

your cutting strip may be the problem. It may not be laying smooth from one end to the other.
