Blade Force - cuts are uneven in strength

Recommended Posts

Hey everybody!  I'm really hoping someone can help me here...

I just bought a vinyl cutter, and am trying to set it up... it's a Refine MH1351 and I'm using the included SignCut software, although I haven't even gotten into that yet, since I'm still trying to set the force of the blade correctly.

My test cuts so far have sloppy corners and are uneven in the strength of the cut.  The blade will barely cut through the top vinyl on one side and practically go through the backing on another in the same cut.

It's possible that I have the blade installed wrong somehow, since I was having a little trouble figuring that out anyway.

Anyone else have this problem?  Also, what can be done to make the edges and corners sharper?

Thanks for your help!

Welcome to our forums!

I would check to make sure the carriage is seated on the tracks properly, it sometimes pops off during shipping. There are little white wheels behind the carriage and they need to be on the tracks, and not in front of the tracks.
