Stand giving me problems???

I have used my ct630 for about 2yrs without any problems than I purchased a stand and a new laptop with vista.  I attached the cutter to the stand and got my new laptop in.  Than it started giving me problems, posted in SB section.  What it would do is cut a little bit and stop, freezes up SB and the cutter says waiting or it would cut once and freeze.  I went today to use it with my desktop which I never had a problem with in 2yrs. and same problem occurs.  Im wondering if attaching it to the stand had any affect on it, its strange but thats what narrowed it down to.  Please help...  and how to fix it.
