Blade Adjustment

I have tried to read up on blade adjustment over the past few nights. The problem seems to be with the holder. The holder has an aluminum upper portion and a lower black plastic portion. If I adjust as instructed to have 1/2 of the blade bevel protruding from the black plastic piece it is no longer threaded onto the aluminum piece.

Am I doing this right? Is it the wrong blade that is just too long for the holder?

Any insight is greatly appreciated!

Could be a bunk blade holder.....we would be happy to swap it out for you.

Can you tell me why it's important for so little of the blade to stick out of the holder??

You dont want the blade cutting through both layers (Your Vinyl and Its Backing)  I have the same holder and its very close, With the blade fully seated the cap is just barely even threaded onto the holder itself..
